Maureen Brooks

|
We are saddened to announce the passing of Maureen Brooks, a member of the Rickard Keen team from 1982 until her retirement in 2003.
An accomplished secretary, she commenced her Rickard Keen career working in our insolvency department until its closure following which she became Bill Gould’s secretary in 1985. She held this post until her retirement.
She was an impeccably stylish lady with a ready smile and consistently demonstrated great kindness to all. Rickard Keen played a great part in her life and she will be fondly remembered by those with whom she worked both as colleagues and clients.
We extend our heartfelt sympathy to husband Keith and sons, Andrew, Peter and James. |

Wedding bells at Rickard Keen
Wedding bells were in the air at Rickard Keen last month as two of our team prepared to tie the knot.
Wayne Baker, one of our accounts managers, and Adele Hume, who works in the tax team, tied the knot in Rayleigh on Saturday, 30 October, before jetting off to a honeymoon in the Maldives.
They were joined in their celebrations by a number of colleagues and friends from Rickard Keen and we look forward to welcoming back Mr and Mrs Baker on their return. |

Seminar to focus on farming issues
Rickard Keen has teamed up with BTMK Solicitors LLP and Whirledge and Nott chartered surveyors to run a free seminar offering invaluable advice for individuals in the farming industry.
‘Your Family, Your Farm’ will take place on Tuesday, 9 November, and is set to include presentations on a number of financial issues affecting those running businesses in the agricultural sector. |
 |
The main topics up for discussion will be asset protection after diversification, how the taxman and courts view businesses, and practical steps for tax mitigation and estate planning.
After several difficult years, prospects are now starting to look brighter for the rural economy, but it is still important that those involved in farming pay attention to the financial and legal aspects of their work to ensure they are maximising their profits and ultimately handing on the business to their successors in the best possible shape.
The event will take place in the Orangery Room at The Lawn Banqueting, Hall Road, Rochford, with registration from 2.30pm and the event itself running from 3pm to 5pm, followed by refreshments.
For further information, please contact Jo Elliot on 01702 606836 or email jo.elliott@rickardkeen.co.uk. |
