Les Brazier
It is with the deepest regret that we report the sad passing of Les Brazier on Wednesday 6 October following a battle with Cancer. Les was the oldest surviving, elder statesman of the firm. He was educated at Southend High School for Boys and during the Second World War served in the Royal Air Force, being stationed among other places in India.

Charity concerts set to hit the right notes
Rickard Keen will once again be staging two charity carol concerts this December to raise funds for local charities.
The first event will take place at the St Martin of Tours Church in Basildon on Tuesday, December 14, with the second concert the following day at Crowstone St George’s United Reformed Church in Westcliff-on-Sea, near Southend. |
 |
Rickard Keen has organised the Southend event for a number of years and teamed up with Palmers Solicitors to hold the Basildon concert back in 2007. Last year, the two charity concerts were attended by around 250 people over the course of the two nights and raised a total of £2,586 for charity.
This year, the Southend concert will be raising funds for the Bosom Pals appeal to improve breast screening provision in the town, while the Basildon event will be supporting Basildon District Volunteer Carers.
Both concerts will include performances from the Southend Band, along with Southend Girls’ Choir in Southend and Southend Young Singers in Basildon. Full audience participation will, as ever be encouraged!
More information will be issued in due course. |

Successful start for Sage workshops

|
Following on from our successful workshop held in conjunction with Sage earlier this year, we are pleased to be hosting a further session on how to make the most of your Sage system.
|
The workshop will show in a live demonstration how easy it is to make most of your software, sharing some of our top hints and tips.
Whilst this is the second in a series of hints and tips sessions, the topics covered in each workshop are independent from each other, so you will not have needed to attend one of our earlier sessions in order to benefit from this workshop.
The seminar will include practical advice on making operational tasks easier, specifically:
- Recurring entries
- Memorising and recalling invoices
- Bank reconciliation and e-banking
- Customer refunds and supplier payments
- Credit control
- Customer discounts and pricing structures
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, 3 November, at Rickard Keen’s Southend offices, with one-hour sessions to be held in the morning from 11am and in the afternoon from 2pm.
To register your interest for any of the future Sage workshops, please contact Darren Clarke on darren.clarke@rickardkeen.co.uk or Jo Elliott on jo.elliott@rickardkeen.co.uk. |
