Changes to mileage allowances

|
The 23 March Budget saw an increase to the mileage allowance which can be paid to employees when using their private car for business journeys. Since 6 April 2011, employees have been able to claim 45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles per year which is a 5p increase from the previous 40p rate. If an employee uses their private car for more than 10,000 business miles in a year, the excess mileage allowance of 25p continues to apply.
