Kingsway Surgery, a small practice in South Woodham Ferrers, near Chelmsford, has recently undergone a period of transformation due to some of the partners retiring.
“It has been a hectic time,” explains one of the partners, Dr Susan Mathew. “It is good that we have been able to liaise with Rickard Keen regarding how to sort out our finances during the process of changing partners.
“They have been really helpful in answering all our queries and have developed relationships with both the outgoing partners and those left behind.”
Rickard Keen has acted as the practice’s accountants for at least five years, and certainly before Dr Mathew joined. Such loyalty has been inspired by the very good rapport between the surgery and its accountancy firm.
“The same accountants have been at Rickard Keen for the whole time,” says Dr Mathew, “enabling us to develop one-to-one relationships.”
The firm takes care of both the personal and practice accounts and helps with the monthly pay flow by calculating pensions and tax. Rickard Keen also provides advice on any changes that will affect the surgery, whether these relate to tax, tax codes or the minimum wage, and runs seminars to discuss them.
“Some of the seminars are geared towards the medical profession, while others are more general. We attended one recently which covered the latest tax changes.”
Dr Mathew has already recommended Rickard Keen to others in the medical industry looking for help with their personal accounts.
