Word of mouth and reputation are invaluable in business. When the West Road Surgery in Westcliff-on-Sea wanted to change from their Cambridge-based accountant to a more local firm, another practice in the area recommended Rickard Keen.
“The other practice already worked with Rickard Keen,” explains Debbie Pang, West Road Surgery’s practice manager, “and gave us favourable feedback on the firm.”
Indeed, Mrs Pang has herself already recommended Rickard Keen to another local practice, as the firm has “been very helpful to us”.
Rickard Keen takes care of the surgery’s accounts and some of the partners’ personal tax returns, as well as attending annual meetings to discuss the accounts and advising on general business issues.
“They have also advised the partners about mortgages, mergers, superannuation and retirement,” says Mrs Pang. “Rickard Keen worked closely with us when our senior partner retired in 2006, advising on capital accounts and ensuring a smooth transfer of partnership shares.”
The accountants were also on hand when West Road Surgery was proposing to work as a group with another three practices.
“Rickard Keen advised us on how to try and come together. They recommended streamlining the format of our accounts systems, provided figures regarding the overall costs to the group and highlighted other services they could offer, such as payroll.
