Managing partner Bob Sadler qualified with Hartley Keen in 1971 before gaining three years’ post-qualification experience with Spicer & Pegler in London, and Ford Motor Company. He rejoined the firm in 1974 as partner.

Bob caters to a range of clients in the property sector including investors, developers and estate agents. He also works with restaurants and bars, and with a number of charities.

Bob is married to Carole. They have three sons and two grandchildren. Outside Rickard Keen, Bob enjoys walking, gardening, going to the theatre and savouring food and wine.




Noel Kelleway

Noel Kelleway joined Rickard Keen in 1972. He qualified two years later, and became a partner in 1978. Before joining the firm he spent some time in the Army. Noel has also gained experience at Touche Ross (now Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu), spending a spell of time in their tax department.

Noel acts for many professional clients, including solicitors, barristers and QCs. He also specialises in accounting for small and medium sized businesses. Noel is a forensic accounting specialist, and his area of expertise includes shares and business valuations. He is also an expert in other contentious matters including matrimonial matters and business disputes.

Noel is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and also the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He is married with three children and enjoys sports including skiing, running and golf, and also spends what little further leisure time that he has reading or painting.




Bill Gould

Bill Gould joined Rickard Keen as a trainee in 1975. He has been a partner for the last 23 years. During the 1980s Bill gained valuable experience working in the tax division of Arthur Andersen. Bill is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)

Bill advises clients on all general accountancy and taxation matters. His particular area of specialism is assisting clients with corporate sales and acquisitions. His client base spans a number of sectors including aviation, agriculture and law.

Bill married recently. Outside the office he is an avid sports fan, with a keen interest in any sporting matter.




Keith Bell

Tax partner Keith Bell founded the tax department at Rickard Keen in 1978. He is recognised as a leading tax specialist with a strong reputation for working with clients on inheritance tax planning strategies. Keith also advises high net worth clients, family-owned companies and large corporate groups.

Throughout his career, Keith has been heavily involved with the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT). He became a member in 1977 after passing the inaugural intermediate exam, and the final exam. He acted as branch secretary for the Essex branch for 13 years, branch chairman for a further 8 years, and is now regional co-ordinator for the East Midlands and East Anglia areas. In May 2008, Keith was elected as a member of the National Council of the CIOT. Keith is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Outside of the office Keith pursues a vast range of interests. He is an avid follower of rugby union, and practices tai chi as well as 12-bore clay shooting. Keith is also a keen genealogist, travelling regularly to Ireland and Scotland to pursue his roots, enjoying hill walking whilst there.




Alan Worsdale

Alan Worsdale has been a partner at Rickard Keen for 20 years. Before that he joined Hartley Keen as a trainee in 1975, and qualified around the time Hartley Keen merged with Rickard Porter to form Rickard Keen in 1980.

Alan is a member of several prestigious professional bodies including the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He has recently been confirmed as a member of AISMA – the Association of Independent Specialist Medical Accountants. This reinforces Alan’s niche specialist expertise in acting on behalf of the medical profession, for all medical professionals, including GPs.

Alan acts for clients across a range of sectors, including a number of insurance brokers and doctors. Alan undertakes statutory audits for large companies, and at the other end of the scale, represents several family-owned and owner-managed businesses.

Alan is married to Angela, and father of adult twins Adam and Amy. He enjoys travel, wine tasting and cooking. Alan also pursues a keen interest in skiing, tennis, squash and golf.




Kate Davies

Kate Davies has built up a wealth of expertise in the finance sector, after securing employment at the Bank of England immediately after completing her A levels. She joined Rickard Keen in 1998, and qualified with the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ACA) in 2002 and as a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) in 2004. She became partner on 1st January 2006.

Kate’s area of specialism is business start-up and business incorporation. She advises fledgling businesses on all aspects, including, business structure, business plans and forecasts and remuneration strategies. Kate manages a portfolio of clients across several sectors including recruitment, IT, property and the service industry.

Kate is married to John. In her spare time she is extremely active, playing and coaching hockey at Southend Hockey Club, and enjoying swimming, skiing and water sports.
