Accountants Hit Right Notes With Charity Carol Concerts

Essex-based accountancy firm Rickard Keen has hit the right notes with two fundraising carol concerts in aid of local charities.

The first performance took place at the St Martin of Tours Church in Basildon on Tuesday, 14 December, with the second concert the following evening at Crowstone St George’s United Reformed Church in Westcliff-on-Sea, Southend.

The concerts included performances from the Southend Band, along with Southend Boys’ and Girls’ Choir in Southend and Southend Young Singers in Basildon. As ever, full audience participation was encouraged, with mince pies and mulled wine available to help guests get into the festive spirit.

Rickard Keen has organised the Southend event for a number of years and has teamed up with Palmers Solicitors to hold the Basildon concert since 2007. The two charity concerts were attended by around 300 people over the course of the two nights with £2,400 being raised.

This year, the Southend concert was raising funds for the Bosom Pals appeal to improve breast screening provision in the town, while the Basildon event was supporting Basildon District Volunteer Carers.

Rickard Keen managing partner Bob Sadler said: “Once again, everyone attending our carol concerts had a wonderful time, with the songs really helping our guests to get into the Christmas spirit.

“Our guests gave generously and we are delighted to be able to give our support to two wonderful causes at this time of year.”
